What is UV curable Ink?

UV Curable inks act like liquid plastic. As the ink is exposed to concentrated UV radiation, a chemical reaction takes place during which the photo-initiators cause the ink components to cross-link into a solid. Compared with water base or solvent base ink, UV curable ink provide the ability to positively impact on colour density and image quality. The other and the most significant reason for UV ink growth is concern over environmental issues.

How to choose the right UV curing system?

UV inks are typically very thick. Although lower viscosities are available, UV inks generally range from 1000-5000 centipoise (as compared with water-based inks in the vicinity of 100 centipoises).Therefore, a right UV curing lamp is one of the most important fact that all printers have to be considered.
